Silkworm Collective are a group of five women artists based in London, whose works engage with memory, land, grief, femininity, and spirituality via textile and installation. Formed with an emphasis on artistic support and accessibility, the collective focuses on community engagement and education. They regularly run workshops and events employing a diverse range of textile-based techniques, celebrating the ambition of a medium once dismissed as ‘women’s work;’ Silkworm embraces textile craft for its materiality, tradition, strength, fragility, and source of community.

The collective has organised workshops for TAA London, A Particular Reality, Thames-Side Studios Gallery, Wapping Open Studios, Synonym Lab, and Constance Howard Gallery. They are currently residents at the Goldsmiths CCA Residents’ Programme and are in ongoing collaboration with Greenwich and Woolwich Libraries. They have also shown with Swiss Church London, Barbican Arts Group Trust, Uist Art Association, Copeland Gallery, Fitzrovia Gallery, hARTSlane, Islington Arts Factory, Kunst Affair, Pri’s Art Salon, Taigh Chearshabagh, and in starch Singapore. They also have an upcoming show at A.P.T. Gallery.
